About

I am Farzaneh Family Assistant Professor of Iranian Studies at the University of Oklahoma. I write on Iran’s transnational connections across much of Asia and Europe (from Turkey in the west to Tajikistan in the east, and Moscow in the north to the Persian Gulf in the south). I hold a PhD in History from Yale University, and have held a Nizami Ganjavi Centre Visiting Fellowship at the University of Oxford, a Fulbright Senior Researcher Fellowship at Sabanci University, and a Fox Fellowship at Moscow State University. I conduct research in Persian, Russian, and Turkish.
